Re.: OFFICIAL LETTER 1,272/2021-SLS – Braskem - Request for clarification on news published in the press

Dear Sirs,

We refer to Official Letter 1,272/2021-SLS ("Official Letter"), dated 09.20.2021, transcribed below, by which you request clarification from Braskem S.A. ("Braskem" or "Company") regarding the news published on 09.20.2021 under the title "Novonor, former-Odebrecht, presents a new Braskem sales model", which contains the following statements:

“Re.: Request for clarification on news published in the press

Dear Sirs,

We request clarification, until 09/21/2021, on the news published by Valor Econômico newspaper, on 09/20/2021, under the title "Novonor, ex-Odebrecht, presents new Braskem sales model", with your confirmation or not, as well as other information considered relevant.”

With regard to your request, Braskem clarifies that is not a part of any eventual discussions between its shareholders about the sale of their equity interest in Braskem and is not aware of the information contained in the news object of this Official Letter, reason why Braskem requested on 09.18.2021 a clarification from Novonor, which responded as follows:

“We refer to your e-mail, through which you request clarification on the news published in the newspaper Valor Econômico under the title: "Novonor, ex-Odebrecht, presents a new Braskem sales model “.

As you are aware, Novonor S.A. has started a process to sell its stake in Braskem S.A., in compliance with commitments assumed with its creditors, having even hired a financial advisor to conduct the studies, analyzes and recommendations for this purpose. These facts were previously communicated to you in compliance with the relevant legal provisions.

In the context of this process, Novonor S.A. is evaluating all possible alternatives for the sale of its participation in Braskem S.A. and compliance with the commitment assumed with its creditors, which includes, among all other existing alternatives, the sale of its participation through of the capital market. However, it should be noted that, at this time, there is no decision as to which alternative will be pursued by the Group.

With regard to the meeting with creditors mentioned in the subject in question, this meeting is part of the communication process that we regularly maintain with our creditors, a commitment that was also assumed by the Group in its restructuring and which has been strictly adhered to.”

Sincerely,

Pedro van Langendonck Teixeira de Freitas

Chief Financial and Investor Relations Officer

Braskem S.A.
