Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (National Steel Company) (the “Registrant”) respectfully notifies the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it will be unable to timely file, without unreasonable effort and expense, its annual report on Form 20-F for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2021 (the “Annual Report”). The Registrant requires additional time to conclude internal discussions and approvals on, and further review of, its disclosures in the Annual Report. The Registrant expects to file the Annual Report within 15 calendar days following the prescribed due date.
