The digital health company announced last month their expansion into the Medicare Advantage space with Peerfit Move product

TAMPA, Fla., Mar. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Peerfit, the leading digital health company working with employers to fully fund fitness experiences for their employees, announced today two additional industry veterans joining as Senior Advisers for their Medicare Advantage expansion. Katie Guhr and Dave Reynolds are joining as Peerfit continues to build Peerfit Move, a new fitness benefit that will be available to Medicare Advantage plan members beginning in 2020.

"Katie and Dave are joining to help take us into this next phase of the product with their background and expertise and we're very thrilled to have them," said Peerfit CEO and Chairman, Ed Buckley, III, Ph.D. "We are armed with some great talent from the industry and are looking forward to making a difference in the lives of seniors with Peerfit Move."

Katie Guhr brings to Peerfit almost 30 years of healthcare experience. Guhr spent the last twelve years with profit and loss responsibility over Medicare Advantage products, leading corporate and market strategic direction in plans across the nation. Most recently with Centene Corporation, Guhr was the interim Medicare CEO, where she focused on growth, organizational structure, compliance, quality, strategy, product, and sales and marketing.

"I'm thrilled to be part of the Peerfit expansion into the Medicare Advantage market," said Katie Guhr. "We've known for a long time that improvement in physical fitness lessens the impact of age-related diseases, both physical such as heart disease and hypertension, as well as more cognitive ones such as dementia. This platform, which has seen great success in the under age 65 market, is one that will be of great interest to our Medicare-eligible population."

Dave Reynolds joins Peerfit as an adviser with nearly 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Most recently, Reynolds served as Senior Vice President of the North Division for WellCare Health Plans providing executive leadership and operational oversight over multiple government programs (Medicare/Medicaid) across a 5 state region. Prior to his time at WellCare, Reynolds was a market president with Humana.

"I'm thrilled about the opportunity to get to work alongside such a passionate and energizing leadership team as we disrupt a market with a product that brings value to the senior community," said Dave Reynolds. "Peerfit Move will be helping seniors live happier and healthier lives with a product that truly brings greater value to the marketplace than what we have seen before."

Peerfit connects employers and their employees to fitness studios and gyms through their insurance carrier or self-funded wellness dollars. More than 12,000 employers and 220,000 (and counting) employees across the country have Peerfit fully-funded through their corporate wellness program. With Peerfit Move, the platform will now reach beyond just employers to those who are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan.
