CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT

Shareholders are hereby advised that the Company has today received an unsolicited formal
written notice of a firm intention from Rox Equity Partners Limited, Registration Number
10937650 (incorporated in England and Wales) to inter alia make an offer to acquire all the
issued ordinary shares in the capital of the Company for a cash consideration of R1.525 per
share.

The Company has appointed a subcommittee of the independent members of the board of
directors to consider the written notice received and a further detailed announcement will be
released in due course.

If successfully concluded, this may result in a change of control of the Company and may have
a material effect on the price of the Company’s securities. Accordingly, shareholders are
advised to exercise caution when dealing in the Company’s securities until a full
announcement is made.
