TRADING STATEMENT FOR YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2021
In accordance with paragraph 3.4(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, a company is
required to publish a trading statement as soon as it becomes reasonably certain that the financial
results for the financial period to be reported on next will differ by 20% or more from those of the
previous corresponding period.
Accordingly, shareholders are hereby advised that a reasonable degree of certainty exists that for the
year ended 31 August 2021:
• the Group expects to report basic loss per share of between 74.89 and 76.10 compared to earnings
per share (“EPS”) of 6.20 reported for year ended 31 August 2020; and
• the Group expects to report headline loss per share of between 63.90 and 65.50 cents, compared
to headline earnings per share (“HEPS”) of 8.02 cents reported for year ended 31 August 2020.
The decline in EPS and HEPS compared to the prior period is primarily as a result of a decline in revenue
resulting from non-renewal of significant contracts in the current financial year as well as the
termination of the Information Communication and Technology Master Service Agreement with a
major customer at the end of July of the prior financial year. In addition, there was a decrease in the
interest income earned by the Group due to the decline in the cash balances during the year.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or reported
on by AYO’s auditors.
The Group is in the process of finalising its financial results for year ended 31 August 2021, which are
scheduled to be released on SENS on or about 29 November 2021.
