CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS: APPOINTMENT OF NON -EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listing Requirements of JSE Limited and paragraph
6.39 of the Debt Listings Requirements, shareholders and bondholders are hereby advised that
Mr Nicola Chiaranda has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Barloworld
Limited with effect from 11 February 2022. The appointment of Mr Chiaranda was made pursuant
to Barloworld’s nomination policy of directors.
The reason for Mr Chiaranda’s appointment is to address the skills gap in strategy and risk
functions in terms of the broader succession plan of the board.
Nicola obtained his Masters in Economics from the University of Venice and qualified under the
Executive Leadership programs both at INSEAD and Washington University in St. Louis.
Nicola’s career spans over 30 years, as a global CFO in public listed multi-national groups, mainly
in the Agribusiness and in food production, in Italy, France, Switzerland, USA, Spain and Saudi
Arabia. His areas of expertise include Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions, Transformation,
Executive Coaching, providing guidance as a Virtual CFO as well as Negotiations.
The Board welcomes Nicola into his role and looks forward to his contribution.
