TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of paragraph 3.4(b) of the JSE Listings Requirements, companies are required to publish a
trading statement as soon as a reasonable degree of certainty exists that the financial results to
be reported upon next, being the financial results for the six months ended 31 August 2023 (HY2024
or the current period), will differ by at least 20% from the financial results for the corresponding
period in the prior year, being the financial results for the six months ended 31 August 2022 (HY2023
or the comparative period).
Huge is finalising its financial results for the six months ended 31 August 2023.
Shareholders are advised that a reasonable degree of certainty exists that Huge’s:
• Net asset value per share (NAV) for the current period will be between 955.00 and 965.00
cents, which will be between 1.70% and 2.76% higher than the NAV for the comparative
reporting period (HY2023: 939.05 cents).
• Headline earnings per share (HEPS) for the current period will be between 15.00 and 20.00
cents, which will be between 52.61% and 64.45% lower than the HEPS for the comparative
reporting period (HY2023: 42.2 cents);
• Basic earnings per share (EPS) for the current period will be between 15.00 and 20.0 cents,
which will be between 52.72% and 64.54% lower than EPS for the comparative period (HY2023:
42.3 cents); and
The decrease in HEPS and EPS when comparing HY2024 with HY2023 is largely attributable to a
R71 million fair value loss on the revaluation of investments held. In future reporting periods, the
Company will no longer be reporting HEPS and EPS because the most appropriate indicator of
performance is NAV.
This trading statement has not been reviewed or reported on by the Company’s external auditors.
