VOLUNTARY ANNOUNCEMENT
UPDATE ON THE PORT OF MAPUTO CONCESSION EXTENSION


The Maputo Port Development Company (“MPDC”), in which Grindrod holds an indirect 24.7%
stake, has been in discussions with the Government of Mozambique with respect to the extension
of the current concession, which expires in 2033, until 2058. The Government recently issued an
in-principle approval for the concession extension which would facilitate increased investment to
expand port handling capacity.
