TRP121: NOTIFICATION OF ACQUISITION OF SECURITIES

In compliance with section 122(3)(b) of the Companies Act, 71 of 2008 (“the Companies Act”), and
Regulation 121(2)(b) of the Companies Act Regulations, 2011, together with paragraph 3.83(b) of the
JSE Listings Requirements, shareholders are advised that Standard Bank Group has received
notification from Coronation Asset Management Proprietary Limited (“Coronation”) of its acquisition of
Standard Bank Group ordinary shares, such that Coronation (on behalf of its clients) now holds 5.01%
of Standard Bank Group’s issued shares.

As required in terms of section 122(3)(a) of the Companies Act, Standard Bank Group has filed the
required notice with the Takeover Regulation Panel.
