GHANA NATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY (NCA) DIRECTIVE ON UNREGISTERED SIM
CARDS

MTN shareholders (Shareholders) are advised that Scancom Plc (MTN Ghana) has, on
28 November 2022, released an announcement on the Ghana Stock Exchange regarding a directive
confirmed to MTN Ghana by the NCA on 28 November 2022.

The directive relates to the full barring of customers, effective from 1 December 2022, that have
completed Stage 1 (Linkage) of subscriber registration but have not completed Stage 2 of the process,
being the biometric capture.

As MTN Ghana is a significant subsidiary of MTN Group, Shareholders are referred to the MTN Ghana
notice, PR. No. 384/2022 dated 28 November 2022, published on the Ghana Stock Exchange for
further details. The Notice can be viewed at https://mtn.com.gh

 Scancom PLC and MTN Group will update investors further on 2 December 2022, on completion of
the customer de-activation exercise and will communicate customers impacted, pro forma revenue
impact and initiatives to re-register impacted customers.
