AUDITED SUMMARY CONSOLIDATED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND DIVIDEND
DECLARATION FOR THE YEAR ENDED 28 FEBRUARY 2023

1. SALIENT FEATURES

Operating profit before tax increased by 12% to R12.199 billion, from R10.935 billion in
the prior year.

Headline earnings per share increased by 15% to 8 420 cents per share, from
7 300 cents per share in the prior year.

Earnings per share increased by 14% to 8 415 cents per share, from 7 371 cents per
share in the prior year.

Total dividend per ordinary share (excluding special dividends) increased by 15% to
4 200 cents per share, from 3 640 cents per share in the prior year.

The net asset value (total equity) increased by 9% to R39.085 billion, from R35.765
billion in the prior year.

2. DIVIDEND DECLARATION

Capitec’s ordinary dividend policy is to pay out 50% of headline earnings. A final gross
dividend of 2 800 cents per share (2022: 2 440 cents per share) was declared on
18 April 2023, bringing the total dividend for the 2023 financial year to 4 200 cents per
share (2022: 3 640 cents per share). There are 116 099 843 ordinary shares in issue.

The final dividend meets the definition of a dividend in terms of the Income Tax Act, Act
58 of 1962. The gross ordinary dividend amount is 2 800 cents per share. The dividend
amount, net of South African dividend tax of 20%, is 2 240 cents per share. The
distribution is made from income reserves. Capitec’s tax reference number is
9405376840.

Last day to trade cum dividend - Tuesday, 9 May 2023
Trading ex-dividend commences - Wednesday, 10 May 2023
Record date - Friday, 12 May 2023
Payment date - Monday, 15 May 2023

Share certificates may not be dematerialised or rematerialised from Wednesday,
10 May 2023 to Friday, 12 May 2023, both days inclusive.
