SALIENT FEATURES Grand Parade Investments (GPI) performed well over the financial year with headline loss for the year improving by R13.3 million (49%) from a loss of R27.0 million to a loss of R13.7 million. The headline loss in the current year includes an impairment against the intercompany loan with Mac Brothers (expected credit loss) and a write-off of receivables, which was realised when control of the subsidiary was lost, as a result of the liquidation of the company. The total adjustments amount to R61.7 million and if this amount is excluded from the headline loss, it would result in an adjusted headline earnings of R47.9 million, a R74.9 million improvement from a R27.0 million loss posted in the prior year. Revenue from continuing operations increased by R16.5 million to R17.5 million fromR1.0 million in the prior corresponding period. Headline loss per share decreased by 49% to 3.20 cents per share, from 6.29 cents per share in the prior corresponding period. Excluding the impairment of the Mac Brothers loans and write-off of receivables, the adjusted headline earnings per share increased by 17.43 cents to 11.14 cents per share, from a headline loss of 6.29 cents per share in the prior corresponding period. Basic Loss per share decreased by 60% to 2.73 cents per share, from 6.75 cents per share in the prior corresponding period. An ordinary final dividend of 12 cents per share was declared for the year, with no final ordinary dividend having been declared in respect of the previous 2021 financial year. During the current 2022 financial year the Group also declared and paid a special dividend of 88c per share and unbundled its interest in Spur Corporation through a dividend-in- specie which amounted to 37c per share. 2. DIVIDEND DECLARATION The directors resolved to declare a final gross dividend of 12 cents (2021: 0 cents) per share from income reserves in respect of the year ended 30 June 2022. The dividend amount, net of South African dividend tax of 20%, is 9.6 cents (2021: 0 cents) per share for those shareholders who are not exempt from dividend tax or are not entitled to a reduced rate in terms of the applicable double-tax agreement. The number of ordinary shares in issue at the declaration date is 470 072 020 and the income tax number of the Company is 9037/0380/24.
